Dr. Justin Sterett

Dr. Justin Sterett has served as a United States Air Force flight surgeon since 2011. He began his career on active duty with Air Force Special Operations Command, where he supported a wide range of operational missions and was selected as the Air Force Flight Surgeon of the Year in 2012. His experience includes medical support for F15 units, C130 crews, remotely piloted aircraft operators, and most recently the HH60 rescue community in the Alaska Air National Guard. In his current assignment he works closely with aircrew who perform challenging search and rescue operations across Alaska.

Dr. Sterett is a primary care physician and completed fellowship training in Integrative Medicine, which reinforces his holistic approach to patient care and his attention to long term health, stress resilience, and lifestyle factors. Alongside his aviation work he remains active in correctional and public health efforts in underserved communities, experience that has shaped his practical and grounded style of clinical decision making.

He brings this blend of operational military medicine, community practice, and integrative health training to his role at Aviation Medical Services. His goal is to help pilots stay healthy and flying safely, to provide clear guidance through the FAA medical process, and to serve as a steady advocate for the airmen who rely on him.
